2016 Westward HO travel blog

We took a drive over to Shelter Cove, a small town on the coast. It is a 21 mile drive from camp and it took me over 90 minutes one way. It was uphill, downhill, sideways and switchbacks with a top speed of 25 MPH because of the road. This was a road to hell for me. There is only one road in and out so you have no other chose but drive it. Most of the drive was 2 lane and one side it was straight down several hundred feet or straight up the mountain. The town sure wasn’t much after we got there and so we returned to the motorhome. Another item about this road is you can burn your brakes out very easy, I could smell ours when I got there. It gave me a damn headache. That was it for the day because we are pulling out tomorrow heading north.
