Recently when we were up exploring county road 153 we saw another road, FR 137 that looked interesting. Today was clear, so we packed a picnic lunch and hit the road. This time we traveled up I-15 to Beaver and then started over CR 153 until we came to the side road for FR 137. It was a good road up along Kent's Lakes. Lots of private homes on this road. We didn't find this road particularly special, until we were about 4 miles from reaching CR 153 on the other end. At that 4 mile mark we discovered LaBaron Lake. Now this made the trip worthwhile! The weather was perfect, no wind, big fluffy white clouds and so peaceful. Great place for lunch and a walk around the end of the lake. It did start to sprinkle on us before we left, so we got back on CR 153 heading towards the town of Junction on Hwy 89. What a beautiful view from up high looking down on the valley. As we neared Panguitch Lake it had been raining, but now it was just a perfect photo op across the lake. Upon arriving back in the monument, the rain and clouds over the amphitheater made for a great finish to another day of living our dreams.
