KAPOORS ON THE ROAD
Ever since we first started talking with Audrey about renting an apartment in Manzanillo for a month, we have been bursting into song. James Taylor's Mexico, to be more specific:
Way down here you need a reason to move
Feel a fool, running your Stateside games
Lose your load, leave your mind behind, Baby James
It sounds so simple I just got to go
The sun's so hot I forgot to go home
Guess I'll have to go now.
It sounds so sweet, with the sun sinking low
Moon's so bright, like to light up the night
Make everything all right...
I've never really been, so I don't really know
Oh, Mexico, I guess I'll have to go now...
Now at last we are venturing south of the Rio Grande for the first time, to Guadalajara. We have three days before Audrey arrives, to get the lay of the land, sample the margaritas and learn our first few words of Spanish. What a wonderful way to wind up the ‘Road Trip’ and begin Retirement – Year Three. Adios amigos.
P.S. This happens to be the thirty-fifth anniversary of the day Anil and I met and first got to know each other. Here’s to another 35!
