We reluctantly departed Mt. Shasta for Cos Bay,OR at 8AM. The drive was through spectacular scenery. It was 250 miles but took over six hours because the last 70 miles were constant twists and turns There was a severe accident near the end of our journey which closed the road and necessitated an impossible detour directed by the police down a steep and narrow farm road with no shoulder on the right and a string of traffic stopped in the opposite direction. I inadvertantly caught my left hub cap on a vehicle on the stopped traffic line. I had no idea it had happened-I was crawling at 3 mph-so that ruined our day. We finally got to Coos Bay RV -The Lucky Logger. We had dinner with the Wolfs at The Blue Heron-a German restaurant. We had Bratwurst, Rolladen and Smoked pork loin. A blueberry apple strudel with ice cream killed the pain for the day.
