The Balloon Museum is a recent addition to the fiesta grounds.

(Ron Writing) This morning we attended our mandatory safety briefing for all volunteers on the launch and recovery teams. We also walked around the launch field area where many vendors are setting up their concessions tents and getting them stocked with merchandise. The fiesta grounds cover approximately 350 acres.

For the past several years a few members of our group have been crewing for the same three pilots; a father and his two adult sons, each of which pilot their own balloon. This afternoon Mike, the father, attended our happy hour and spoke to our group. He gave us several tips and expanded on some of the safety information.

It was a little cooler today but still up in the high 80’s. We’re all hoping it cools down by this weekend.
