Gee we had a lovely day today. Started off in the way a lazy Sunday should – lazy breaky reading the papers, then we headed down to the Marina in Tewantin where they have some Sunday Markets. Bought a couple of gorgeous skirts made from recycled heritage silk saris – and not too expensive either! We then bought all day tickets for the ferry and cruised on down the Noosa river, chatting to a couple from Yorkshire. It was a beautiful day to be on the river – little bit windy but only just enough to just add a bit of fun to the experience. We hopped off at a couple of the stops along the way wandering along the foreshore, back on the ferry then off again at another stop. At one of these stops we went into one of the many café’s and had an absolutely yummy fruit salad with yoghurt – so fresh –mmmmmmmmm. Also had a chat to the girls (ie: Ashley and Brittany) on the phone when they called to say (or should I say sing!!) ‘I just called to say I love you’ – that was really lovely :)
After rescuing a little girl who came off her bike it was back on the ferry again this time going all the way through to Noosa Heads. Spent an hour wandering around Hastings street and checking out the many shops along here then back on to the ferry again for the trip back to Tewantin. As we pulled in here we had every intention of going back to the car and home but the ferry driver invited any one interested to take the trip back up the river again to enjoy sunset on the river – and he also suggested we buy some wine from the wine bar at the marina and bringing it back on the ferry with us. We both just looked at each other and said –“We are in no hurry to go back home” so off we went to buy our wine and back on we came. And it was just beautiful. The wine bar had supplied us with a wine bucket, ice and glasses. By this time the wind had died down completely and it was just magical sitting on the back of the boat and enjoying the beautiful sunset and sipping our wine. We got talking to another German couple with whom we shared out wine and they could not get over how friendly Australians were!!! We traveled all the way back to Noosa Heads again then on the way back we had the whole boat to ourselves (other than the ferry driver of course). What a magical, magical end to a lovely day.
