Italian Wine Tasting

Diane, Gloria, Tom and Jim

Yesterday we left Sedona early and got Maria and Vito to the airport in plenty of time for their ll:30 am flight home. All went well and they arrived in the Berkshires without incident.

We got home, did some shopping, had lunch and rested. Later in the evening we found out that Jim- our RV neighbor- had to replace the water filter on our hose connection while we were away. Apparently it cracked resulting in a slow but steady leak of water .

A park wide garage sale took place this morning so we got up early to see if there were any bargains before we headed to the olive mill for the day. I found two cute sunflower placemats for a quarter each. That was it - not much room for anything else!

At 10:00 Diane and Jim and Tom and I left for the olive festival. We took the tour and tasted some nice olive oils. We were surprised at how good the e v o o was. They were also tasting small vineyard Italian wines . Truthfully, the Alcantara wine we tasted in Sedona was far superior than anything we tasted today. Fun nonetheless.

The weather was perfect for an outdoor lunch so we decided to eat at the restaurant on the premises. Everything was delicious. They make homemade dressings for the salads using olive oil as the base and fresh herbs that they grown . An added bonus - the coffee - it was absolutely delicious. Next week they our replacing the wine tasting with a coffee tasting so Tom and I are definitely going back. The owner of Cartel Coffee will be there so it should be interesting (and neither one of us will mind eating there again that's for sure!)

Got home at four o'clock and said goodbye to Diane and Jim. Jim has to practice the keyboard tonight because he is playing at the East Coast Potluck Supper tomorrow. Diane had to make her casserole . Tom and I are invited because we grew up in New York and apparently sound like we never left!

We are making such wonderful memories!
