Ron & Elena's 2007-2010 Travels travel blog

(Ron Writing) We intended to visit Chimney Rock, a little north of Hendersonville, NC today, but when we awoke it was very cold and windy. When I checked the weather forecast they predicted much colder weather for tonight and the next few days. We decided it must be time to head for a warmer climate!

We drove back to Asheville, NC on I-26 and then headed west on I-40 all day. Late this afternoon we arrived in Nashville, TN where we are spending the night at Wally World. It is forecast to get down into the 20's - wow that's too cold for us!

The drive today was beautiful. I-40 winds through the Appalachian Mountains and some very scenic Tennessee countryside. We enjoyed wonderful fall colors again all day today. We even saw several deer right beside the interstate.
