|Days have been spent driving around the beautiful Phoenix/Mesa area seeing all the different cactus still not in bloom, the gorgeous hills and spectacular sunsets, wild horses, our first "Road Runner" and Cardinal as well as spending time with family and friends. One of the days found us at the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum...WOW what beautiful specimens they have. Arizona is the site of tremendous geological activity in the past and has a diversity of minerals found in few other places on earth. Arizona produces 65% of the nation's supply of copper and you can find many others here as well...turquoise, malachite, azurite, chrysocolla and bronite. It is the nation's number one mining state. Weather in the mid to upper 70's and a day or two it has been 80...we sure don't complain about that! The orange, lemon and grapefruit trees are in bloom and how I wish I could send you the fragrance via the internet...a smell you can't describe.
