(Ron Writing) The visitor center WiFi was still down this morning so we drove about 7 miles to a spot along Hwy 180 where we could get a cell signal to make phone calls and get on the internet.

After lunch we took a short hike to the part of Grant Grove where the General Grant Tree and several other very large trees are located. Our campground is also in Grant Grove and there are several sequoia trees right in the campground but they aren’t very large compared to the General Grant and his buddies.

It was very cool today – only got up to around 55° so after our hike we built a nice campfire to enjoy for awhile and also to cook our dinner and dessert again. We had a beautiful sunset this evening but I did a poor job of capturing a photo of it.
