Well, our almost 6 month stay here in Yuma is coming to an end. We hit the road tomorrow morning heading back east to Myrtle Beach SC. We call it the 85365-29576 trip.

It has been amazing to see the fields here transition from winter grown crops to summer crops such as wheat. Some of the wheat here is already 16" tall! While out "surveying" the crops, we made stops at Martha's Date Garden's and a place called On the Farm. Date shakes from both places were good, but the date shake made with butter pecan ice cream from On the Farm was the best!

We rode with Jim and Judy to El Centro CA to shop at Costco. El Centro is about an hour west of Yuma on Interstate 8. We passed through the Imperial Sand Dunes. The dunes are the kind of desert we imagined when one thinks of a desert. Obviously, not all "deserts" are the same! We were also able to watch the Blue Angels F-18's practice in the skies over the parking lot at Costco!.

There are 3 casino's nearby to Yuma. We had been to the Q, and to Paradise Casino earlier this winter, so we decided that we should probably check out the Cocopah Casino as well. We spent an afternoon there with JR and Lynn. We had some fun, and a great meal while there. Debi & Lynn both had good luck on the slot machines. Tom found yet another dark craft beer (on tap at the bar). Peanutbutter milk stout by Belching Beaver Brewing, out of California. (

We have been busy getting the motorhome cleaned and packed for our trip east. We gathered up the potted plants that have been on our patio area and brought them to their new home over at Country Roads (another nearby parked that has many seasonal and permanent residents) Lynn & JR had been here in the same park we are in for the winter, but have decided to stop travelling and are having a permanent home put in place at Country Roads. The green plants will fit nicely at their new home.

Thursday morning (4/4) we went for breakfast burritos at Stan's Grocery on 1st St in Yuma. We had heard lots of good things about their food. We were surprised at how small a place it is, but WOW, WOW, WOW! Super good and way more than one person should eat for breakfast.

We also went out to the Black Bear Diner with Tom & Nancy. We had a great meal and visit and shared our travel plans with them, and theirs with us. It seems like just yesterday we arrived in Yuma, and they took us down to Los Algadones Mexico and showed us around. But that was almost 6 months ago! Thanks again for helping us out while we were here in Yuma! We look forward to following your travels on your journal.

Friday evening (4/5) we got together with our good friends Jim & Judy (RV'ers from Washington State) for dinner at Lin's Buffet. Another great meal! They have been our neighbors here in the Palms RV Resort for 6 months and we have become good friends. We've had a great time hanging out visiting for happy hour, sharing meals together, being down at the dog park watching Kasey and Bentley romp around, doing things around town, and playing Farkle till all hours of the night! We will keep in touch, and safe travels when you head back north to WA.

That's it for now. We will try and keep our journal up to date as we make our way back to the beach!

Take Care, stay healthy!
