It is a fishing day. We are both awake early. We head out of town to the Crazy Rainbow Lodge. We meet our guide, Jesse, at 7:15.
The water is very high. The weather is great. The fishing is always good on the North Platte. I take lots of pictures.
We stop for lunch. To quote Jessie, “No good story starts with everything happened as expected.”
One of our oars is gone when we return to the boat. We do not know how it got loose. We can now report that we broke down in a drift boat!
Jessie moves us downstream to a spot where he can get to his truck. He has an extra oar. We sit anchored up for quite a while. We watch the birds and laugh.
Jessie returns with an oar and we finish our trip. There is always some excitement.
