Our day will be spend at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in downtown Charlotte. We felt this would be a good day for the visit because during the week traffic would be crazy since it is located in downtown Charlotte. It was a very interesting visit to see all of the history since NASCAR started up 1948.

NASCAR committed to building a Hall of Fame and on March 6, 2006, the City of Charlotte was selected as the location. Ground was broken for the $160 million facility on January 26, 2007, and it officially opened on May 11, 2010, with the inaugural class inducted the day following the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race XXVI. Richard Petty and Dale Inman helped unveil the first artifact at the Hall of Fame — the Plymouth Belvedere that Petty drove to 27 wins in 1967. The hall has many interactive displays like working at a pit crew person or driving in a race. So much to see, check it out on the internet, NASCAR Hall of Fame.
