|What a long driving day.
Flagstaff in Arizona to Green River in Utah. 640km. Just over 6 hours of driving, but also making lots of stops on the way for the photo opportunities.
The main stops were throughout Monument Valley. Spectacular. Mind boggling. Awesome.
It was pretty good.
The most exciting part however, was the last hour or so. It was getting dark and we were heading right into a BIG storm. In one corner, you could see the very slight red of the sunset, then in the middle was black… real black. Not night. Black clouds. With a very lively lightening show.
The heavens opened up just as we arrived in Green River and drove into our motel. It was, and is still, bucketing down.
The storm has taken out the electricity three times so far as I’ve been typing up these blogs. Fingers-crossed that it’ll stay on long enough to upload the photos.
That’s 3 thunderstorms in 3 nights so far.
