|Today we are heading to Goteberg to see Frida, another of Jens cousins and Michael and Maries daughter. We didn’t get away quite as early as hoped as their little dog needed to go to the vet and have a few tests. Worked out well asI actually had a bit of work to do on the computer anyway. We managed to get away a little after 12 for the 3 hour drive. We stopped into a roadhouse for lunch and the food there wasn’t too bad considering. Coming into Gotenberg it really is a massive place. Apparently we were coming in pretty much on peak hour traffic and it was quite busy, much like Melbourne really. We got to Fridas place, she lives on the 5th floor of a large apartment complex and her unit is quite large compared to Jens dad and brothers (80m2). Weare lucky enough to have our own room here while marie and michael are sleeping on the lounge room floor. We got settled and all jumped into the car and drove down to their local beach. Reminded me more like granite island more than the coastlines we have at home . Marie and Frida went for a swim and although I was in shorts it was not warm (hot) enough for me! While they were doing that Jen and I went for a wander and it really was like treking around granite island but just a lot greener and more trees (nicer). Left the beach at about 8pm and its still light, called in and grabbed groceries and headed home for tea. We got back and got to meet Fridas partner Robin who is a truck driver here and just finished a 14 hour day. He speaks very good English and we got along well (translation- he offered me beer) HE is going to try to take Wednesday off work as they want to take us to a popular bar here called The Dancing Dingo and meet some of his aussie mates (some of which worked on the animations for Avitar). Called it quits and headed to bed about 11 – still very light outside which just doesn’t seem right as the sun is up again at 4am. Going to take some getting use to yet……..
