|Left camp to see the Gila Cliff Dwellings, Silver City, and the City of Rocks State Park. After we went through Silver City and headed for the Cliff Dwellings it was snowing a bit and we could see snow on a couple of the mountains. As we got closer we discovered one was the mountain we were headed for. As we drove up the Park road the snow kept getting deeper, about 4 inches. When we got about 28 miles from the Cliffs it began snowing again. We chickened out and turned around.
The City of Rocks was more than we expected. I have lots of pictures but will post only a couple. This would have been a nice place to camp. The jack rabbit didn’t seem too scared of us.
It has been windy all day, and cold, even in the flat land. I think the high was expected to be 52. It seems it's going to be another rocky night.
We plan to leave tomorrow, check out a couple of ghost towns along the way, and move on to southeast Arizona for a couple of days.
