|We are now staying about 24 miles from Julian it is our nearest town, we are in the middle of nowhere. GOSH IT IS VERY HOT 104 when we arrived on Thursday. Good job there is a pool to cool off in. It is lovely and peacefull after the noisy place we stayed in at San Diego. We sat outside last night, not a sound watching the Owls fly around and the Jack Rabbits running around ( Jack Rabbits are large with black tails and black ears). Today (Friday) we headed into Julian a very quaint old town with some lovely shops ( different ) Julian is famous for its Apple Pies we have yet to try some. It used to be the biggest city in California in the Gold Rush days. We are spending tomorrow there as well as it is the 4th July they are having parades and a Vintage Plane Flyover, we have been warned to get there by 7.30am as we won't get parked otherwise, they say take your chairs place them on the sidewalk, nobody will touch them, go off for breakfast then come back in time to see the first parade at 10.00am. There is loads of other things going on through out the day.
