Looking inside kaleidoscopes

I spent the day in Jerome - a cute hillside town about 90 miles north of here. I drove to the top of the hill and had lunch at the Jerome Grand Hotel . The view from the restaurant is lovely. I remember eating here with Maria, Vito, and Tom .

Parking was at a premium on the streets below but luckily someone was vacating a spot just as I was approaching. Walking the streets of Jerome is something like walking the streets of San Francisco - not quite as bad but certainly hilly. The store I love the most is Nellie Bly . They specialize in kaleidoscopes and teleidoscopes of all sizes . Best of all they allow you to take photos of what is inside the larger kaleidoscopes. I just loved that.

The drive to and from Jerome is full of spectacular scenery. It is one of the best day road trips in this neck of the desert.
