The Capper Nomads Europe Adventure travel blog

When we had started our summer trip we were unsure whether we would get to Norway or not this year. Time had just flown by and to do justice to Norway we decided that we would leave it till next year. So instead we would explore the rest of Southern Sweden before heading back to the UK for the end of September

Today we started heading east towards Stockholm intending to stop at Karlstad just under halfway to visit Europe’s largest freshwater lake Vȁnern.

It was dry when we left Kungshamn but for most of the journey we were in heavy rain. We arrived in Karlstad and easily found the campground. Fortunately we had reserved one of their few hard standing pitches as the rest of the pitches were rather soggy.
