(Ron Writing) The weather was beautiful again this morning and after a relaxing breakfast we went for a long walk around the campground. The road around the lake is several miles long and there are camping areas scattered along most of it. After our walk we had lunch and then packed-up the trailer and continued our journey west on highways 153 and 158 to Midland, TX. We also came through Midland on our way east this spring. On April 12 and 13 we visited George Bush’s boyhood home and the Petroleum Museum here and enjoyed them both.

We’ve been through Texas several times both before and since we started full timing. We never leave Texas before finding a good Texas pit BBQ restaurant. Friends Russ & Glynna recommended KD’s Bar-B-Q so that was our first stop on the way into town. We selected a variety of meat right off the pit. Very good food and the price was very reasonable.

After dinner we drove a short distance to the Walmart* on the east side of town where we are parked for the night.
