Our plan for the day is to visit Colorado National Monument. Truthfully, I am prepared to be disappointed. How can this compare to the scenery we have already seen?

The entrance to the monument is two miles from the RV Park. The ranger tells us what to expect. “You will be driving the twenty-three mile Rim Rock Drive. I can best describe it as a drive along the rim of a mini Grand Canyon.”

We climb for four miles to the visitor center. John is enjoying this. This may be a good day.

The Rim Rock Drive is perfect for us. The weather is great for riding. There are not many people in the park. We stop at many overlooks. Again, the scenery is wonderful!

At the end of the drive, we have another four miles of twists and turns to get back to the canyon floor. We take Monument Road back to the RV Park.

Colorado National Monument far exceeds our expectations. Today is another example of why we bring the motorcycle!
