We left Petaluma at 9:45 AM and drove to Willits. Willits is about 90 miles north and close to Mendocino,CA. The roads are too tortuous for RVs to drive fully to Mendocino so we chose Willits and will drive the car from this location on a daily basis. It is much warmer here because it is inland from the coast. We arrived about 12:30 and set up for our stay. The Wolfs treated me to a fabulous birthday dinner at the Purple Thistle. What a great little Bistro. We sat outside in the garden and dined festively on Sesame encrusted Ahi Tuna. We had a Ahi and avocado tartar appetizer. The wine was a fabulous Barra syrah. Crook, the black and white cat, shared the foot of our table with us. I was made an official member of the Wolf Pack-an honorary traveling expedition. However, any slip up will void my membership. I received a great knit Wolf Pack expedition shirt as proof of my worthiness. I was then served fabulous berry compote on top of delicious yellow cake-complete with dessert wine. Another year gone- just like that!
