Ron & Elena's 2007-2010 Travels travel blog

(Ron Writing) After a leisure breakfast we left Hugo, OK late this morning heading south on US-271. After just a few miles we crossed the Red River into Texas and continued south to Paris, TX. From there we drove west on US-82 to Whitesboro and then US-377 south, US-380 west, and I-35W south to Fort Worth, TX. By the time we arrived at the northwest side of Fort Worth it was 5 PM and we stopped at Cabela’s for the night.

It’s always fun to stop at Cabela’s. Each store is different but they all have very nice displays of mounted game animals and usually very large aquariums with game fish typical of the area. The Fort Worth store has more mounted animals than we’ve seen in other stores. All are displayed very beautifully and there are signs with information about various animals. Just like going to a natural history museum!

The weather was about 80° with a pretty stiff south wind, which is typical of Texas.
