(Ron Writing) This morning we attended Sunday School and worship service at the First Presbyterian Church in Branson. Our class was led by a math professor at the College of the Ozarks. They are studying the book “Is Your God Too Small” by J.B. Phillips. We found the class friendly, welcoming, and the discussion was interesting. The church currently has an interim pastor, Rev. Dr. Munn Hinds, Jr. who is a very good preacher. It was a busy morning; four new members joined church, there was one baptism, and we had communion.

This afternoon we went to the opening of Yakov Smirnoff’s Christmas program at Yakov’s Theatre. He was born in Russia and came to the United States with his parents. Not knowing a word of English, he mastered the language and has lived his dream of being a comedian. The jokes centered around his real life experiences learning about American culture. His final monologue was quite serious and touching. The show was hilarious and we "rolled" out of the show.
