We need to rest. After sleeping in, we attend a pancake breakfast here at the park. Other than that, we just lounge around all morning.
In the afternoon, we drive fifteen miles to Hood River. We ride the Mt. Hood Railroad Wine Train.
At 2:00, there is a wine tasting at the Springhouse Winery in Hood River. Wine is served in “The Ruins”. The speaker is impressive. He speaks about the different kinds of wine they are able to grow in the region. I cannot believe the difference in rainfall from The Dalles to Cascade Locks. The Dalles is desert. Cascade Locks is a rainforest.
At 2:45, we board the train. Appetizers are served. We purchase a glass of wine. After all, it is the wine train.
At 3:30, we arrive at the Mt. Hood Winery. There is more wine tasting. There are views of Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood. Mt. Adams we can see fairly well. Mt. Hood is covered in clouds. This reminds us of Alaska.
At 4:30, we are back on the train. Desert is served! What a great way to spend an afternoon. Life is good!
