Brisbane is just another city! It took us absolutely ages to find somewhere to free camp, so Nat phoned her cousin who lives in Brisbane for some ideas. In the end, after hours and hours of driving in the dark we found a nice little spot next to the river called Morton Bay. This is where we stayed for 3 nights. Perfect.
Keith and Claire left Nat in Brisbane for a day and went off to the famous 'Australia Zoo'. It's a great zoo and concentrates a lot on conservation. We walked around for a bit and came across the memorial site for Steve Irwin. It was huge and really very moving. It was obvious that the late Steve Irwin was much loved by loads of people. It was very touching to see.
So after a hot day at the zoo we went back to Brisbane to pick up Nat and then left the following morning to head to the Gold Coast and maybe meet up with a few people from the Fraser Island trip.
