Hank and Marilyn Coast to Coast 2017 travel blog

Down the natural Historic Entrance

Inside a small portion of Mammoth Cave National Park

After a wonderful stay at the Simoneschi B & B outside Louisville we continued traveling South-west. Our next stop was Mammoth Cave National Park, Under the rolling hills of south-west Kentucky are over 365 miles of surveyed passageways. Humans have been exploring this cave system for perhaps 4.000 years. We entered only 1/2 mile into the cave system. It was a brief but powerful exposure to one of our planet's wonders.

Our journey today ended in Fort Campbell Kentucky where Marilyn's only brother Michael lives with his wife Maria. We came on their invitation to be here for the solar eclipse on Monday. We will have one of the longest periods of totality.

Tomorrow (Sunday) will be a day of rest and reunion. We will not post to this journal tomorrow. Look for us on Eclipse Monday. Thanks for following us.
