Appreciative riders

Day 6 of the run. Day 11 of my trip. I feel better this morning. Still tired but alert. After morning meetings we drove to the Topeka Service Center on I-70 for fuel and some truck-stop coffee. A small group of riders left early to make a stop at the OOIDA national HQ. This is the Owner/Operator Independent Driver Association. There the group did an interview that will help inform the truckers about who we are and what we do and why we ride in a pack. As of this morning we are nearing 500 registered to ride in our Central Group. We do our best to not interfere with traffic and specially trucks. We realize that the truckers are on schedules and are working hard to earn a living. But our mission is important too. A quarter of a century of doing this has taught us the safest way to run the pack. So if the truckers will give us a break we will give them a break too, when it is safe to do so.

Now, I will try to upload some photos but there will be several days worth together. Sorry that I do not have time to caption them individually. But at least you can see some of what I have been experiencing.
