Wednesday April 28

We enjoyed a sleep-in then had a horrible greasy breakfast at Denny's before we dragged our luggage down the street to the trolley stop. We rode to the border on the trolley, holding on to our bags very tightly because a young boy who was constantly pacing up and down the aisle and falling into people's laps was making us very nervous.

When we got off the trolley, we had to walk for ages up a long spiralled ramp, across a bridge, down a long spiralled ramp and along a paved walkway which crossed the international border into Mexico. As we walked, we stumbled upon a small travel agent and since we had no plans, stopped to get some information and figure out what to do next.

We were persuaded to buy plane tickets to Guadalajara and within two hours we had gotten into a taxi, checked our bags in at the airport and were on our way to the south of Mexico.

Friday April 30

We stayed a Hotel Posada San Rafael, a nice, very ecomomical family-run hotel in the centre of town and spent a couple of days wandering around the Guadalajara, enjoying the historic buildings, the language and of course, the food.
