|I wasnt sure what to expect since the Tsunami. While the rest were getting jumped by commission guys to book a hotel I wandered to where we stayed last time. It was gone. Almost looked clear cut. Both hotels were gone. It was really disturbing. I cried, regained composure.. sorta.. and went back to the group. We ventured to the other end of the island to our hotel and it was night and day. Let me tell you that Phi Phi and Phuket are doing just fine. PP has at least tripled in size and Phuket (Patong) is I swear 5x's bigger. It was hard to see, I'm glad their back on their feet but it's too bad that they're so overdone. There's motorized vehicles on the island now and no longer the place I would want to live out my final days. Phi Phi was beach time, a horribly embarrasingly fake Thai fight, a boat trip to Maya beach (the beach where Leonardo's "The Beach" was filmed) and another 'memorable' bar night.
