On the Road with Tom and Gloria travel blog

Met up with lots of construction on I10 West heading to Tuscon. The roadway was very tight - Owen did a great job of maneuvering us through the miles of barrels.

As usual, setting up on my site in Canyon Vistas was a challenge. After practically regrading the site, I am level, jacks are down, and slides are out. My home for the next six months is ready to be lived in.

As stated yesterday, Owen and I couldn't wait to hit In and Out for a burger. We arrived at noon and the place was packed. Our burgers were every bit as good as we remembered and we relished every bite. Tonight we drove to Owen's old neighborhood in Scottsdale to have dinner at Habaneros Mexican Grill - also as good as we remembered.

Besides hooking me up ( no easy task today), Owen raised the seat on my bike and fixed the front license plate on the car. He is such a tremendous help - his Dad was always so proud of him and still would be! I have to get Owen to the airport by 7am tomorrow so we should get to bed early. There is a three hour time difference here from the east coast and a two hour time difference from Chicago. That is going to take some getting used to!

The sunset was spectacular this evening - a beautiful desert sunset. I am sure I'll see many of them this winter and I will always think of Tom and how we enjoyed so many beautiful ones together.
