Fireworks. Canada's 150th birthday.

We drove I90 toll road all the way here from Ashtabula Ohio. It's the fastest route with not much to see. We did this drive about 20-25 years ago and drove through Erie PA. Erie was pretty abandoned at that time.

We spent 4 days at Niagara Falls. It was the highlight of the trip for Ava. Again we planned our activities around rain. Being at the falls the rain didn't matter. We were wet one way or the other.

Papa took Ava through the Cave of the Winds. It's a natural cave behind Bridal Veil Falls. It is some 130 feet high. You follow wooden walkways along the Niagara River. You are given a yellow poncho and special footwear and then ride an elevator 175 feet deep into the Gorge As you walk the deck you are sprayed from the Falls. It was fun for both of them.

Mamu and Ava took a boat ride on the "Maid of the Mist". There are boats from both the Canadian side and the American. Canadians wore red ponchos and Americans blue ones. The boat starts on the calm part of the Niagara River and takes passengers past the Falls. Passengers are sprayed with the mist from the falls.

The next night we walked the bridge to Canada. Ava got a new stamp on her passport. WE watched the light show and there were fireworks celebrating Canada's birthday. Afterwards we walked back to America and headed home. It was a late night and we were tired. Got a good nights sleep after all that walking.
