My last photo yesterday was of the Castle with the sun setting on it.
Today we are moored at Cookham - found the last spot in this particular mooring stretch where there are 8 other boats tied up, as you can see from the picture taken from the back of the boat. (£8 per night here). We had a bit of an incident at one of the locks this morning - the lock keeper was not on duty so we had to operate it ourselves (it's all electric, so very easy to do). The locks are quite big and while we were waiting to go into the lock there were 2 narrow boats and 2 largish cruisers in the lock, so I was operating the gates and one of the narrow boaters managed to get his rope jammed tight so we had to stop emptying the lock and start refilling it until the rope became unjammed!!!! How to waste half an hour of your day. All was well eventually and we were on our way again.
A walk to the village took us through the church yard where there are some very old graves. We saw one from 1680.
The shops/restaurants had some lovely floral displays.
