Brentford Guauging Lock

We went down to the Thames yesterday for a short walk - haha. This is the Brentford Gauging Lock. It was a very busy place in it's prime,as you will see from all the information.

From this lock we carried on to the Thames Lock - aboout another half a mile. It was almost high tide, and the lock is manned by the CRT for 2 hours either side of high tide to let boats in and out. This is where we entered the Grand Union Canal and where we will leave from when we return from Australia in September.

Started packing yesterday ready for departure on Saturday morning.
