View of Grand Junction from the Monument

We got to Grand Junction about two weeks earlier than we originally planned.

The State Park sits in a canyon. The Colorado River is on one side, the Interstate is on the other. During the week there were very few people in the park. It filled up over the weekend.

We spent several days here visiting Donald's relatives. There was a lot of eating, visiting, and talking of old times.

We did commit one day for site seeing. We drove to the Colorado River National Monument. The views were great. Not quite a good as some we have seen but still great.

I did try fishing one day for about an hour. The wind was blowing so hard I could hardly cast my line. I caught a tiny brim. Fun though.
