Adelaide is the state capital of South Australia and apparently the fourth nicest city to live in in Australia (although the locals don't seem too happy with that) and the twenty fifth best in the world. It's well laid out with parkland completely surrounding the city centre which is a square mile grid of streets - so everything is pretty compact and walkable. Our hotel, Tiffins on the Park, is on the edge of the parkland so it's only a shortish walk to all the city's attractions and restaurants.

Adelaide is also close to the ocean and the nearest beach is at Glenelg only fifteen minutes away by road or tram. Glenelg is also the place where the first settlers landed when they came to establish Adelaide.
