We drove with Denis' Uncle David to Bateman's Bay via Kangaroo Valley. The weather wasn't too good but we did manage to see a kangaroo and a wombat. Both were a little motionless though, i.e. road kill. As part of the great pie trail we stopped off at "The Best Pies in the World" Pie Shop in Kangaroo Valley for a damned fine pie. Sarah & David had traditional Aussie; Denis had chilli-con-carne (yes in a pie). After a couple more hours we arrived at Bateman's Bay at Denis' cousin Alex and Great Aunt Florence. Unfortunately the weather was too bad to go fishing, so we had to get dinner at the local RSL (Returned Service League). RSL clubs are similar to the British Legion back home, but bigger and more like a social club, bar, restaurant, take-away cum casino with the pokies. Pokies are slot machines. Still solid. Tomorrow we pick up Denis' mum on the way back to Sydney after a quick stop in Canberra.
