The Capper Nomads Europe Adventure travel blog

We left Bordeaux and headed south towards the French/Spanish border. There is only one road that takes you across the Landa, a 100 plus miles of flat land with very few settlements. As it is a major route to Spain it's a toll road that cannot be avoided. By the time we reached the campground at Urrugne we had paid out nearly 50 Euros in tolls!

We arrived at the campground and wondered whether we would find a spot for our "Big Rig" because of the trees but the very friendly and helpful campground owner (although spoke very little English and us very little French. showed us a couple of pitches where we could stay. While setting up we got talking to an English couple with an older and not so big American motorhome who were also heading to Portugal. We realised we had seen them at Champagnac but had not spoken.
