The Capper Nomads Europe Adventure travel blog

Yesterday our first day in Bordeaux saw us doing a big shop at one of the French Hypermarkets which was very good, catching up with internet etc and deciding what we wanted to see in the area.

As it was a nice day we decided we would head for the coast and say hello to the Atlantic Ocean again.

This part of the French coast has very few settlements and few roads. The coast has wide sandy beaches, high sand dunes and miles and miles of forests. Very wild. We enjoyed a walk through the forest to the high dunes above the wide expanse of beach at Lacanau-Ocean

We then drove to Cap Ferret an area now favoured by the wealthy Parisians and Bordelaise to the point of the cape with dangerous swirling water and again white sandy beach before heading back to base.
