War Memorial in the village

We travelled on the Sunday to a campground at Champagnac-la-Riviere just south-west of Limoges in the Limousin Region of France. We had targeted this campground as it was open all year and had been specifically been set up for American RVs by the English owners Bob and Di.

We were given a very warm welcome and a lovely large pitch with full hook-up. We intend to spend at least a week exploring the area.

After all our travelling last week we used our first day as a rest day and also a catch up on washing etc. It was a lovely sunny day(our first in week) so we enjoyed a stroll down to the village with its lovely but very rustic old church. It was also Remembrance Day and there was a small and short service at the war memorial in the village to remember the dead of the two World Wars particularly the resistance fighters.(This area because of its terrain had been a major resistance operation area.)

Our helpful hosts have given us plenty of suggestions for exploring the area.
