We've had a wonderful time visiting with my parents in NE TX these last couple of weeks and now have traveled, as a group, to Lake Catherine State Park in Arkansas. We will spend the week with them here and then they will go home and we will head towards the rest of our summer adventure.

As I always tend to do around my mother's cooking, we have eaten way too much delicious food and are now diligently trying to hike the extra weight back off while exploring the area around the lake. It is very hilly here and we are experiencing some lovely "pulse pounding" walks.

Currently, however, it has started to rain and a thunderstorm is moving in so we are back in Mongo waiting to see how big this storm is going to be. Blayde is already hearing the thunder and not happy about it at all! We had a smaller thunderstorm move through about 3:00 this morning and Blayde made sure that both his parents were awake and aware of how much he dislikes thunder. There is nothing like the experience of being "paw slapped" awake by a Pomeranian at 3 a.m. while trying to sleep in the pitch darkness of the woods. I guess he figures "if I'm awake and frightened we are ALL going to be awake!"

I guess I better get this posted before the storm gets any closer and I need to turn off my computer.

Happy Travels,

Rebecca
