We head to Yellowstone National Park. We travel to Madison, Norris and then north to Mammoth Hot Springs.
The lodge pole pines have their bark scrapped by buffalo. The majestic mountains are always in the background. The rivers seem to flow in all directions.
The wildlife is untamed and abundant. We parallel an eagle as it follows the Madison River. The buffalo are everywhere. A mother grizzly with her two cubs feed in the meadow. The elk are close. A yellow-bellied marmot sits on the side of the road. The frogs croak and the birds chirp as I take pictures.
The thermal areas defy description. In Alaska, I fell in love with every glacier I saw. Here at Yellowstone, I love every bit of steam that comes out of the ground.
Yellowstone National Park does not disappoint. It is a magical place. May we always protect it.
