Loaded!

Yeah, they're ready

Ready for the morning harvest

Early morning in the vineyard

Uh oh...unwelcome guest

Harvest time

Ready for pick up

Lots of grapes!

Whites are ready too!

Even more grapes!

Cleaning time

After they are cleaned, time to get started on making wine

First into the stemmer and crusher

Out one end comes the stems

Out the other comes the crushed grapes and into the press

Then we squeeze them tight

And out comes the juice!

Looks pretty dry!

The reds don't go into the press just yet, we need the...

Stirring and stirring and stirring my brew...

About a week later the reds go into the press

And out comes grape juice

All that's left is must...or cow food!

All this goes into the tank room

And eventually it is ready for a taste test

Is the must ready yet?

We'll be back!

Views of the vineyard

2 acres of happiness

Here comes the sun!

Early morn

We stopped by my parents vineyard to help with the harvest. It was a lot of work but it sure was educational and the fringe benefits were great...free wine! I tried to put the pics in sequence so they made sense. We picked and processed about 2 tons of grapes that week!

If you are in the area or are looking for a nice daytrip, the tasting room is open! The have some great dry reds and whites. You can check it out at the url below.
