Kilmore

11 November.

2 hour boat trip to Gladstone, then an hour’s flight to Brisbane, followed by a 2 hour flight to Melbourne, pick up the car and an hour’s drive to Kilmore, we finally made it to arrive at Carolyn’s at 10.30 that night. Each part of the journey wasn’t too bad, it was all the waiting around in between that became tiresome, but Carolyn had opened a bottle of wine so in a short while all seemed well with the world! It was lovely to meet up with Jane and Tudor, who were staying with Carolyn. They had had a great time in Australia, so lots to catch up on.

The next day, we headed off to Pakenham, two hours away to collect the camper trailer. Kellie and Michelle, the owners of Melbourne Camper Trailers, were delighted to see us again (they had sold us then arranged for the sale of our last Cub Camper). Long chat to catch up before having a refresher on how the camper worked and all the new features. A visit to Target to collect Ruth’s pre-ordered shorts and a few items for camping before heading back to Kilmore.

Barbecue outside on a warm evening; good company, food and wine. Very late to bed.

13 November

Up very late!

Lazy morning then a visit to a nearby Target(35km away, well that is nearby in Australian terms) for a few odds and ends and for Tudor and Jane to have a look. We came away with what we wanted and Tudor and Jane bought some nice clothes - Tudor was instructed to buy some shorts, which he did!

Lovely dinner all together and then bed. We have to be up early tomorrow to set off on our camping trip.

14 November

Up early, but the rain is chucking down. Fortunately a few breaks so we are able to load the car and get going. First to catch up with Janet and John, in Kensington, then on to Apollo Bay.
