Lola oppped for the update now I am having trouble uploading the photos from the last two days.

Out of Vermillion Bay and on to Winnepeg and then Brandon,Manatoba, about 200 km west.

Through Kenora in the morning at the top north end of Lake of the Woods. Found a Volkswagen SPYDER, Found another Beech Twin on floats and this was the real thing, Hope the photos take on this entry.

Was offered a ride but I thought better of the fuel for an hour at 45GPH and $8.00 Canadian per gallon.Glen Cransdon, Kenora Air service offered the ride and would have let me fly it off of the water with his expert guidance, maby next year, this is a place to come back to.

Once you get Out of Ontario at the west end, and into Manatoba, the landscape changes entirely to Prarie Farm land, The roads are very good. But miles and miles of flat prarie and Cedar trees. Brandon is recuperating from the flooding of last month and there are many walls of sandbags still on the roads, some piled up 20 ft. We are told we have not seen barren Prarie until we cross Saskatchawan tomorrow. Lola says it looks like South Dakota, she is right at home.

We have camped tonight at the Little Chalet Motel in Brandon,(photo) reminder of those motels on Rte 66 in the 50's and 60's. $85. Clean and neat but the floors in Chalet #11 are about to fail. The Chalet restaurant ( yes, on the property) made Lola and I a VERY good Cheesburger and Fries. We have lucked out on food choices. Stopped at 4PM today so Lola could catch up on her classes.

We stopped at a small market in Kenora and replaced the lunch snacks we left in Terrace Bay. Stopped on the 1 HWY and hyad a picnic with Poco, local flies and mosquitos. It has been 94F since we got up this morning.

called Rick and Char and let them know we were shooting for Thursday arrival at their place in Idaho.

More tomorrow
