Madura to Bordertown – Took a bit longer to set off today as we just loved our camping spot so much – just didn’t want to leave. Drove to Eucla where the first person I encountered gave me a big hug and told me he loved me!!! It turned out he had forgotten to bring his charger for his camera with him and so had asked everyone who pulled into the roadhouse what sort of camera they had – and guess who had the same camera as he did! He borrowed my charger and took it into the roadhouse to charge up his battery while we had our lunch. And to show his gratitude he kept us entertained with his monologue and even caught a witchery grub to show me what they looked like! Was going to take a photo of it but didn’t want to encourage him any more than was necessary – he was definitely quite a character.

Drove down to have a look at the old telegraph station in Eucla and were wondering why it seemed like we were carrying extra weight, till we looked at our tyres and mudflaps – we had picked up a bit of mud along the way - now we feel like we are on the Nullabor! Our original plan had been to drive through to Nullabor Roadhouse tonight but had forgotten about the time difference so decided to head for Bordertown instead. Again a good decision! It is a cute little place right on the border. Got a bit chillier today so I think we will be cranking up the heater tonight! So looking forward to the Great Bight tomorrow.
