Typical Jamaican souvenir - no I didn't buy one!

Dunn's River falls

Traffic jam in Ochi

had an early start this morning and drove north through the mountains from kingston to ocho rios on the north coast. the scenery was stunning, everywhere is so green and lush....passed through lots of little communities where people seem to make their living selling fruits and all sorts of things by the roadsides.

the north coast is much more geared to tourists and it struck me straight away how much more developed it was than parts of kingston.

our first stop was dunns river falls, which any of u who have been to jamaica am sure have visited and climbed! it was full of tourists and felt a bit strange seeing lots of white faces again and hearing english voices....first thing i heard when i got out the car was a really rough english cockney couple having a massive argument, screaming at each other in the sounded just like a scene out of eastenders and it made me realise how much i don't miss home! it was v embarrassing though...maxine asked me if they were english - i should've lied!

herbie and i climbed the falls right to the top and maxine took the was actually a really hard climb and apparently there was much more water than usual coming down so i could only use one hand to climb, the other having to hold onto my bikini! ..i nearly lost both the top and bottoms several times....lots of v unflattering bikini shots of me scrabbling up the rocks like a mountain goat which am obviously not going to put on here! especially as my expertise in jamaican cuisine and beer is now starting to show the signs....!!

we then went to ochi, did a bit of shopping and i did the tourist thing and bought some souvenirs before driving along the stunning north coast road to montego bay.
