A closer look at the boardwalk/pier.

Two streets down loading cruise ships.

Our campsite.

Again.

Our next stop was Galveston, on the beach. We used some smaller back roads to avoid Houston. It worked great. Our campground was right on the seawall. Though windy and cool, we enjoyed the area.

They were having a Baptism in the water when we walked to the beach with jackets on. The picture of the event did not turn out, but we got them coming out of the water.

Drove to the end of the island and watch the ships for a while, then drove along Seawall Blvd. and found a spot to eat(named The Spot). Had a Shrimp Po Boy. oh boy! Afterword a tour of old town Galveston. We tried to stay an extra day, but they had been booked solid for three weeks. It seems that they have as much Mardi Gras here as in New Orleans, so on the road again, once again bypassing Houston.
