Well we had another day of getting nowhere.
Set off this morning and after the first lock Tony rang the CRT to book our trip through the Thames lock from the river onto the Grand Union for Friday as they require 48 hours notice. That was all good until about half an hour later they rang back to say we wouldn't be able to get through as there are 2 locks before our destination that are closed for maintenance - one of them is closed until 1st March. So after some deliberation we decided to find a Marina to sit in for the duration. We've ended up coming back up the river to Reading and moored in the same place as last night - tomorrow we will go back into the same Marina we were in to start with.
What a palaver!!!
the mistletoe is growing rampant in this tree.
We saw this pair of eagles along the way.
After we were moored up we went for a walk and noticed this boat being craned back into the water - it's the boat that came at us under the bridge yesterday.
He crashed into the bridge on both sides as he came rushing through and must had done some damage (or thought he had).
So it's time for a cup of tea and a little sit down now. (cot & lsd)
We'll be doing a lot of walking in the next few weeks as it's a good walk to the bus stop from the marina, so we'll get some exercise and get the chance to have a better look around Reading.
