Friday we drove out to Crested Butte 20 miles away a very quaint town nestled amongst the huge mountains with snow on the top still. With the green meadows and the scattered wild flowers it looked like Switzerland. We found a lovely Italian café for coffee/hot chocolate & lovely homemade cakes. Then to hike the trail out of town, we reached the fast flowing river then turned back, loads of wild flowers on route and 1000’s of dandelions, we passed an old mining works on the way they used to mine anthracite there.

The mountains are still covered in snow this high up and you can feel as you walk the shortnest of breath because of the high altitude.
